I woke up this morning to pitch-blackness. The winds had gotten so bad outside that the power had gone out. This isn't unusual, but normally the power blinks and is back on a few seconds or minutes later. Not this morning! It's amazing how much light all your electronics give off. My little alarm clock wasn't glowing, the computer power light had gone out, the VCR time was off, and boy was my room DARK! Creepy.
It was funny as me, my dad, and Karen all walked around the house with the flash lights giving off horror-filmesque shadows everywhere. We let the puppies outside to pee and their ears were blowing in the wind. Suffice to say, they didn't stay out there long for fear they'd blow away :p
The power came back just as I was leaving for work (great timing...) Ah, TGIF!

ugh---that bites, and not even a sympathy closing from work for your obvious peril! The nerve.
I'm with Em! How dare they not let you off work, what if there'd been emotional damage from the lack of light you needed to recover from?
And you're right on light, bit. Have you ever thought about the noise those things give off? It's odd to not hear electronics (or the buzz of lightbulbs, or click of the oven clock...).
HEY!!!!! ARE YOU EVER PLANNING ON POSTING AGAIN???!!! :)
miss ya!
